You bring the story. We help you get it onto the page.
Some people have a book inside them and no time to write it. Others have started three times and stalled. Our professional book writing services pair you with a writer who works from your ideas, your notes and your voice, so the finished manuscript sounds like you and not like a stranger.
Book writing with us is a conversation first and a manuscript second. Your writer interviews you, reads whatever you already have, and builds an outline you approve before a single chapter is drafted. If your idea is still forming, that is fine. Part of the job is helping you find the shape of the book. You can see the whole journey, from first call to finished files, on our step by step process page.
Writing is only the first stage. A finished manuscript still needs a second pair of eyes, which is why most writing clients go on to professional editing of the finished draft, and many then ask us to handle the design, formatting and publishing setup so the book reaches readers in print, eBook and audio. Each of those is quoted separately, and you decide whether to continue after each stage.
If you are writing a cookbook or a picture book, the writing process is a little different, because recipes and illustrations shape the text. Our cookbook writing and publishing page and our children's book writing and publishing page explain how those projects run.
We start with interviews about you, your readers and what you want the book to do. From that we build an outline you approve before writing begins.
One writer stays with your project from the first chapter to the last. You know who is writing, and they know your voice.
You read each chapter as it is finished and tell us what to change. Nothing moves forward without your say so.
Each chapter includes 2 rounds of revisions, so the tone and the facts are right before we move on.
You receive a complete, formatted manuscript file that is ready for editing and design.
The words are yours. Copyright is assigned to you when the project is complete and paid for, and we never claim credit unless you ask us to.
Step by step, with your approval at every stage.
Tell us what the book is about, who it is for and what you already have, whether that is a full outline or a few voice notes.
We send a written quote based on length and scope, with what is included and what is not. No obligation.
Your writer interviews you, gathers your material and builds a chapter outline for you to approve.
Chapters arrive one by one. You read, comment and ask for changes while the book takes shape.
Once every chapter is approved, you receive the finished manuscript. From here, editing and publishing can begin if you want them.
Anything not listed as included is quoted separately. See our Refund and Cancellation Policy for what happens if plans change.
We do not publish prices. Every project is quoted in writing after a free consultation, because every book is different. The quote lists exactly what is included and what is not, and it does not change unless you change the scope. There is no obligation to go ahead.
Read our Refund and Cancellation Policy for what happens if you change your mind, and the quote and payment questions on our FAQ page.
Many stalled drafts stall because the structure was never decided. An approved outline means every chapter has a job, and the writer is never guessing what you want.
Ask any writer, including us, for a sample chapter and a clear explanation of how they will capture your voice before you decide.
The interviews are where your voice comes from. Authors who send a few notes and then disappear for three months tend to get a book that sounds generic. Short, regular calls work far better.
Make sure your agreement says, in writing, that copyright is assigned to you when the project is complete and paid for. Ours does. Without that line, you may not own the book you paid for.
Even a good manuscript benefits from a separate editor. Plan for editing from the start rather than discovering the need after the writing is done.
Many book writing projects take around 4 to 6 months, depending on the length of the book and how quickly feedback comes back. We agree a schedule with you before writing starts, and we treat it as an estimate, not a promise.
