What personal data we collect, why, how long we keep it and the choices you have.

This website is operated by Inovio Waves Solution Corp. (“Stein & Day”, “we”, “us”). We provide book writing, editing, publishing and marketing services to authors. You can contact us about privacy at info@steinandday.com or by post at 7 East 48th Street, New York, NY 10017.
We are an independent company and are not affiliated with the original Stein & Day publishing house that operated from 1962 to 1989.
When you use our quote form or email us, we collect your name, email address, phone number (if you give it), the service you are interested in and anything you write in the message box. We use this to reply to you, prepare your quote and, if you become a client, deliver the service. The legal basis is taking steps at your request before entering a contract, and our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries.
The consent box on the form confirms that you understand this. It is never pre-ticked. We do not add you to a mailing list or send marketing emails unless you separately ask for them.
If you become a client we also hold your agreement, invoices, payment records (we do not store full card numbers; payments are handled by Stripe / Bank Wire), your manuscript and project files, and our correspondence. We keep these to perform the contract and to meet tax and accounting obligations.
Our hosting provider records standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested, timestamps) to keep the site secure and working. Our spam protection service (Cloudflare Turnstile) checks that form submissions come from a real browser; it may process your IP address and browser information for that purpose. We also rate limit form submissions by a hashed version of your IP address, which we cannot reverse.
We only set analytics or advertising cookies after you click “Accept” on the cookie banner. If you decline, no Google script loads at all. You can change your choice at any time using “Cookie settings” in the footer.
Your consent choice itself is stored in your browser’s local storage, not in a cookie, and is not sent to us. For how Google uses data, see How Google uses information from sites that use its services.
We do not sell personal data. We share it only with service providers who help us run the business:
Some providers process data outside your country. Where they do, we rely on their standard contractual protections.
Depending on where you live you may have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, receive a copy in a portable format, and withdraw consent at any time. To use any of these rights, email info@steinandday.com. We will reply within 30 days. You may also complain to your data protection authority.
California residents: we do not sell or share personal information as defined by the CCPA/CPRA.
The site is served over HTTPS only. Form submissions are validated on our server, protected against automated abuse, and sent to us over encrypted connections. Access to client files is limited to the people working on your project. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security, but we take reasonable steps to protect your data.
Our services are for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has sent us data, contact us and we will delete it.
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed. Significant changes will be flagged on this page.
