Honest feedback and careful edits that keep your voice intact.
A good edit is the difference between a manuscript that reads like a draft and a book that reads like a book. Our professional manuscript editing services cover every level, from the big structural questions down to the last missing comma, and every change is tracked so you can see and approve it.
Editing is not one thing. Developmental editing looks at the big picture: structure, pacing, argument and character. Line editing works on the sentences. Copyediting fixes grammar, consistency and small factual slips. Proofreading is the final check on the formatted pages. Most manuscripts need two or three of these at different points, and we help you choose the right ones in the right order. Our overview of how a project runs shows where editing sits in the whole journey.
If you have not written the book yet, or you have a half finished draft and no time to complete it, you may be better served by working with one of our book writers first. If your manuscript is already edited and you want it on sale, our publishing services pick up where editing leaves off, with cover design, interior formatting and distribution in your name.
Once your book is published, finding readers is the next challenge. Many authors pair a clean, well edited manuscript with a realistic book marketing plan so the work put into the writing actually gets seen.
Big picture feedback on structure, pacing, argument and character. You get an editorial letter that explains what to change and why.
Sentence by sentence work on flow, clarity and rhythm, so the writing reads smoothly without losing your style.
Grammar, punctuation, spelling, consistency and fact checking of names, dates and details inside the manuscript.
A final pass on the formatted book to catch anything that slipped through, including layout errors.
Every edit is visible in your document. You accept or reject each one. Nothing is changed silently.
A record of the spelling, hyphenation and formatting decisions made in your book, so future editions stay consistent.
Step by step, with your approval at every stage.
Share your manuscript or the first few chapters, and tell us what kind of help you think you need.
We read the sample and recommend the level of editing that fits. If a lighter edit will do, we say so. The quote is written and has no obligation.
Your editor works through the manuscript and returns it with tracked changes, comments and, for developmental edits, an editorial letter.
You go through the changes, ask questions and accept or reject each one. A follow up call is included to talk through the feedback.
After your revisions, we do a last read of the changed sections. If you are publishing with us, proofreading happens after formatting.
Anything not listed as included is quoted separately. See our Refund and Cancellation Policy for what happens if plans change.
We do not publish prices. Every project is quoted in writing after a free consultation, because every book is different. The quote lists exactly what is included and what is not, and it does not change unless you change the scope. There is no obligation to go ahead.
Read our Refund and Cancellation Policy for what happens if you change your mind, and the quote and payment questions on our FAQ page.
Proofreading polishes sentences; it cannot fix a plot that sags in the middle or a business book with no clear argument. Get the big structural feedback first, then polish.
Editing chapters that you will later rewrite wastes effort. Finish the draft, take a break, then send it.
Tracked changes exist so you stay in control. Read the edits, ask questions and reject anything that does not sound like you.
New errors appear when text is laid out: bad line breaks, missing headers, wrong page numbers. A proofread on the formatted file catches them.
Editors check the manuscript against itself. Checking claims against outside sources, legal review and permissions are separate jobs, and we tell you when you need them.
Most edits take around 2 to 4 weeks, depending on the length of the manuscript and the level of editing. We confirm the date with your quote and treat it as an estimate.
